Michelangelo began working in the shoe industry in 1980 at Michael's Bootery. In 1991, he purchased the store he started working at eleven years prior. The original owner established Michael's Bootery in 1954. Michelangelo prides himself on providing customers with high-quality products and personal service. Michelangelo is a Board Certified and Licensed Pedorthist. The office is conveniently located in Norridge, Illinois just minutes from O'Hare International Airport.
Since 1991 Michelangelo has been expertly repairing and handcrafting custom made footwear products, including custom made Birkenstock sandals for our patients, Michelangelo's is pleased to announce that Custom Made Birkenstocks are now available to you, wherever you live. We have shipped custom made Birkenstocks and repaired Birkenstocks to eleven countries on four Continents.
Custom Made Birkenstock sandal designs are available in a variety of styles and sizes. Our catalog of possibilities is only limited by your imagination. Actually, we can make almost any type of Birkenstock call us to find out how you can get yours. Michelangelo can obtain almost any Birkenstock sandal, take it apart and reassemble it just for you!

Michelangelo's is also an: Award winning, AUTHORIZED BIRKENSTOCK REPAIR & RETAIL CENTER. We can make your old Birkenstocks look like new again. We can heel you and save your sole. Repairs available on Birkenstocks: Heels, Soles, Lifts, New Footbeds, Rockersoles, New Straps (whole or partial). You name it and I am sure we can do it. Repair turnaround time varies on the time of the year. December to March is slower and turnaround is usually quicker 2 weeks or less. April to November things are ramping up and turnaround can be two to four weeks depending on workload. If you are concerned about the turnaround time, please call Michelangelo. He can give you an accurate estimate based upon how many pieces are in the queue. Custom Made Birkenstocks are six to eight weeks on average.

HOW TO USE THIS SITE:
Repairs: Go to the Repair Menu page, select the repairs you want. Add them to your cart and check out. Return shipping will be added to yoru invoice when you check out. Then send in your repairs with a copy of your email confirmation. When your items are received, you will receive an email. When they are shipped, you will receive another email.
Parts: Go to the Birk Parts page, select the parts you want and add them to your cart. Check out and shipping if any will be added to your invoice. Parts ship usually within a day or two. You will receive an email when the parts ship out.
RETURNS: All returns must be approved before returned to 8344 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, IL 60706-3152. Buyer pays all return S&H. Returns must be within 14 days of receipt and in new condition, in original box and resellable. In addition, outbound S&H will not be refunded. Furthermore, items with FREE S&H will have $14.95 deducted from the refunded price for the outbound S&H that was included in the original sales price. No returns are available on repairs.
